SASSA Payment Dates January 2024: When SASSA Payment is Coming in January 2024?
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) provides grants to citizens each month, which are crucial for meeting their daily needs.
Payment Dates in January 2024
Beneficiaries can expect SASSA benefit payments to be disbursed on different dates in January 2024, depending on the type of grant. Each grant has its own payment date, and there are various ways to receive the payment.
When Will the Payment Arrive in January 2024?
In December 2024, SASSA will process the Older Person’s Grant first, with payments expected to be made on December 1st. Beneficiaries may need to wait 2 to 4 days for the payment to appear in their accounts.
The Disability Grant will be processed next, with payments expected on December 4th. Recipients can choose from different methods to receive the payment, including pick-n-pay, direct deposit, retail stores, and the post office.
On December 5th, SASSA will process the payments for the Child Support Grant, as well as other grants such as the Care Dependency, Foster Child, and War Veteran’s grants.
The monthly payment for the Social Relief of Distress grant will be issued between December 18th and December 22nd, but the exact date may vary between individuals. Beneficiaries can check the status on the official SASSA website to determine the exact payment date.
Gold cards, which are used to receive SASSA payments, will remain active even after their expiry. The government will provide updates on card renewal and the duration of their activation at a later date.
SASSA Payment Dates
Every month, SASSA publishes payment dates for different grants on its official website. It is important for beneficiaries to regularly check for any updates regarding their grants.
Name of the Grant | Payment Date |
---|---|
Older Person’s Grant | 3 January |
Disability Grant | 4 January |
Children’s Grant | 5 January |
Social Relief of Distress | 18 – 22 January |
The Social Relief of Distress payment in January 2024 is expected to be issued between January 25th and January 31st.
It is important for beneficiaries to continuously meet the eligibility requirements for each month. Failure to meet the eligibility criteria may result in payment denial. SASSA will continue to reject payments for subsequent months until the eligibility is met.
Once the payment is transferred into the beneficiary’s account, it will remain there. There is no need for beneficiaries to rush to post offices, retail stores, or ATMs to withdraw their payments.
Each grant has a different monthly payment rate. For example, the SRD grant recipients typically receive R350 per month, while the Older Person’s Grant recipients receive R2090 per month.
Tracking Payments and Contacting SASSA
The most efficient way to track payments and determine the exact payment dates is by checking the status on the official SASSA website or contacting SASSA through phone.
Payments usually take 2 to 4 days to appear in bank accounts. If the payment takes longer than the expected deadline and the status shows that the payment has been issued, individuals should contact SASSA or their bank branch for assistance.
