The payment dates for SASSA’s January 2024 program have been announced, with beneficiaries set to receive their federal aid on specific dates.
SASSA January 2024 Payments Dates
The SASSA program offers different types of grants to individuals who meet the social security criteria. These grants provide various benefits and assistance to help beneficiaries cover their monthly expenses.
The payment dates for SASSA’s January 2024 program differ depending on the specific grant. These dates are determined by the South African Social Security Agency and are fixed. For example, older person grants will be delivered on January 3, disability grants on January 4, and children’s grants on January 5, 2024.
SASSA Increase 2024 Amount
The SASSA provides financial assistance to individuals with lower incomes and resources. The grants are determined based on the consumer price index and the rising cost of inflation throughout the year. After evaluating these factors, the financial assistance is set and delivered to the beneficiaries. The SASSA offers grants such as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD), disability support, old age grants, child support grants, and more.
These grants are designed to meet the specific needs of individuals and their households. For example, old age recipients receive a monthly pension to help cover their cost of living and other expenses such as healthcare. Child support grants are provided to families with children under the age of 18, helping them with education and other costs.
The SASSA January 2024 Payments are calculated based on the rising inflation and increased cost of living. The SRD grants will be provided between January 25 and 31, 2024. Other grants will be delivered between January 3 and 5, 2024. All benefits will be directly deposited into the beneficiary’s bank account.

The old age grant for January 2024 will provide a proper source of income to recipients above the age of 60. Those between the ages of 60 and 74 will receive R2080, while recipients aged 75 or above will receive R2100 per month.
On January 4, 2024, the SASSA disabled grant will be delivered. This grant provides monthly assistance of R2,090 to individuals with disabilities, both mental and physical, who are 18 years and older. Disability grants are categorized into temporary and permanent grants, depending on the duration of the disability.
SASSA’s Social Relief of Distress program provides temporary assistance to meet basic needs. In January 2024, SRD grants will be provided between January 25 and 31. War veterans will receive R2105 as part of this program.
